You have the perfect photo of your dog or cat. Now, which size? Each of our custom pet portraits comes in three sizes, framed in black, white or oak, or as a print only. Here is how to choose.
8x10 inches (about 20x25 cm): for desks and shelves
The 8x10 is a classic photo-frame size. It fits on a desk, a bedside table, a bookshelf or a mantel, and works well in a gallery wall with other frames. It is also a popular choice for a gift, since it fits anywhere.
12x16 inches (about 30x40 cm): the most versatile
The 12x16 is big enough to be a real piece of wall art, but small enough for a hallway, a bedroom or above a dresser. If you are hesitating, it is the safest choice for one pet.
18x24 inches (about 45x60 cm): a statement piece
The 18x24 becomes the centerpiece of a room: above the sofa, the bed or the fireplace. It is also our recommendation for The Duo and for costume portraits like The Mona Lisa, where the details of the painting deserve space.
Framed or print only?
A framed portrait arrives ready to hang, in black, white or oak. Black brings out light backgrounds and adds contrast, white feels soft and airy, and oak adds warmth. Choose the print only if you already have a frame or want to match existing frames on your wall.
A simple rule for walls
Above a piece of furniture, art usually looks best when it covers about two thirds of the width of the furniture. On a large empty wall, go bigger rather than smaller.
